A repro -- yay! Plus other stitching, prizes, and a meerkat

What repro, you say?  Yes, a beautiful repro!  All I've worked on so far is the border, so I won't bother showing a picture of my progress yet.  But I did get permission from the designer to show off what I'm stitching now.  I love her!  Mary Roe by The Scarlett House, a new reproduction.

Isn't she gorgeous?  I can't wait to get to the insides of the piece!  The colors are so beautiful!

I did finish the next Toy Chest Etui page for the SAL I'm doing with Loraine.  It's a scissor fob/crayon box.

So cute!

And I got page one done and started page 2 on And They Sinned.  Yay!

The tree is really pretty with all its foliage and fruit.

And I couldn't resist starting the next section.

I was lucky enough to win a couple of prizes recently.  First, from Patty C. of Hanging on by a Thread, I won a needlebook she made -- it's so pretty!  She also included some Bohin needles which I've been wanting to try out, plus some Mill Hill glass beads.  Thank you so much, Patty!!!

Isn't that rose amazing?

And from Annie of Annie Bebop's Coloring Book, I won a chart, which I've been wanting forever.  Go to the link, and you'll see Annie's finished piece of this design.  It's gorgeous!

Thank you for the chart, Annie!

The boy child has been needing a haircut for quite a while now.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a pic of him at his shaggy worst.  Such long hair!!  We determined that the last time he cut his hair was probably around May of last year.  lol!  But it was an extremely short haircut that time.  Well, I guess the boy child likes the idea of annual haircuts.  He got it cut very short once again.  Sorry for the blurry pic, but you get the idea.

Whenever he cuts his hair this short, I'm sad -- I miss his pretty hair.  lol!  Well, as he says, it'll grow back.  And then I'll be bothering him to get a haircut again.  :D

Mia has a favorite toy, which lives on the top of a high chest of drawers in the bedroom.  She periodically looks up lovingly at the spot where she knows it's hiding.  The other day, Mia went through a long period of looking longingly up at her toy.  This involved getting up into what we call her meerkat position, then getting back down into sitting, then up into her meerkat pose, over and over again.  I caught her at it to show you her meerkat pose.

Isn't she cute?

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

Can I have my toy, please?

Quick ETA:  The toy that lives on top of the chest of drawers is this "bird" thing made of feathers in a very clever way.  It dangles off a long, thin stick.  When the owner (DS, father type etc) rushes the toy through the air, it makes a fascinating whirring sound and spins in the air.  Mia is endlessly fascinated and tries to catch it etc.  BUT she can't play with it on her own -- if she does, she'll break the feathers on the "bird."  (The replacement birds are expensive!)  Thus, the toy lives up on the chest of drawers for those  times we play with her.  She loves it so much!  Poor thing -- I promise, I don't torture her on purpose.  lol!

The boy child looks very handsome with his new haircut. OK... why are you torturing Mia? Is there a reason she can't have her favorite toy? Poor kitty.
Your ATS looks amazing and your toy etui will be an heirloom.
Yay to your new repro start.

You have been busy with such lovely projects! And what wonderful goodies you received! I was excited for you when I saw you won Patty's giveaway!
Your son looks very handsome with his haircut. You'd better watch out for those college girls next year - a handsome, talented young man!
Mia is too funny! I was wondering how/why her toy is out of her reach!?!

Oh you are so lucky having Mary Roe, Sew and So haven't got it in yet. I am so looking forward to seeing your progress.

ATS is looking good.

Young men are so handsome when they get their haircut. They often take more trouble over their appearance when a girl is on the horizon.

Mia is adorable, our pets never cease to entertain us.

What a great new repro, Margaret! Love it. And that queen of hearts looks like a real fun stitch. Miss Mia is so cute. When Gigi is ready to play she sits and just stares at me LOL.. usually she wins! :) Have a great week!

ATS is looking fabulous. And Mia doing her meercat impression cracks me up. They are such intelligent little creatures at times (well, some of them are anyway), it's so amazing.

Another productive week for you! (as always.) I saw Tanya's framed model on last Sampler Sunday and i really liked her a lot!! Especially the light blue caught my eyes. I may have to get out from my little Christmassy box I planned for this year :O Poor Mia begging for her toy? Limo does the same thing and even worse as she appeals herself very well with crying in such weak voice. Wondering what's Mia's favorite toy?

Mary Roe is a lovely sampler; I can't wait to see your pictures! I can't get over how much you've done on ATS - it's a beauty and for me, it was a really fun stitch (till the end and I had to improvise due to short fabric)!
Your toy chest is coming along beautifully, too! You do have a lot of projects going, don't you?
Great pic of Mia sitting up - I'm not sure I've ever seen a cat do that.
BC looks great with the short hair. One of my son's friends is growing his hair out for Locks of Love - That's a lot of hair!

Great progress on those sinners. Another really fun sampler to stitch I'm sure.

Have fun with your winnings. And thanks for the nod to my stitching!

Mary Roe is on my want list!
Love the short haircut, too!

Awww, what a sweet little meerkat! LOL Would you give that poor cat her toy?! ;)

The boy child looks great with the hair cut! My son dyed his hair pink yesterday for Shave or Dye, a fundraiser for cancer research. I'll just say that the dye didn't take too well but he looked like an Oompa Loompa. He's going to bleach it and then dye it again. Oy.

Your stitching looks great! Can't wait to see Mary as she progresses.

Deb said...

You're making great progress on ATS!! And I love Mary Roe and can't wait to see how far you've gotten on it.

Your SAL piece looks wonderful too. It's going to be so beautiful when you have it finished.

Love the pics of Mia. She is precious. And your son's haircut made me smile. Nick left his hair quite long and finally got it cut. He looks so much better but he hates it!

marly said...

Give her the toy!!! All your stitching is looking great as always, (boy child's looking good too) and I want to know why these sampler women always have waists the size of my wrist. Mary Roe must have been one skinny chick.

My son has long hair too and I'm not sure he's had his cut since October 2010 when he cut it for Locks of Love.

Congratulations on your wins - such nice goodies!

ATS looks wonderful. Are you stitching it on scroll rods? Are you going to assemble the Toy Chest etui yourself?

I didn't know cats could do that. My smallest pup can do it. It's always fun to see!

That's a sweet little sampler. Definitely one for my list. Good progress on ATS. Love the pin cushion and other goodies. Very handsome haircut. Mia is too sweet! Hope she got her toy. :)

Phew, thank goodness I'm not in love with Mary Roe (waaaaay too religious for me!) - don't need another project-in-waiting. I'm sure you'll do the usual lovely job on it, as you are on ATS and Toy Chest - they're gorgeous!
Mia is so cute as a meerkat, but why does she have to beg for the toy?

Chris said...

I LURVE the repro. I might have to get this one.
ATS is looking great, you are making fast progress.
Your son's haircut looks great and Mia is a hoot. I think she needs some kitty quality time, aka play time.
Have a great week!

I love the pic of Mia doing a meerkat! That reminds me of the bunnies when they stand up and look around at stuff. I just learned when I got the buns that the "stand-up routine" is called "periscoping". How cute is that!?

I had no idea that you had started on "And They Sinned" (just goes to show you how out of touch I have been lately), it will be fabulous! (And many hours of stitching-fun, I am sure!)
